Mission Statement
The National Development Foundation (NDEF) is a not-for-profit, non-religious and apolitical
Association that works with rural communities empowering smallholder farmers to work
and reduce the vulnerability of their households to food, health and income insecurity while
ensuring environmental conservation through the use of improved technologies and sustainable
agricultural practices.
Motivation
The North West Province of Cameroon is a vibrant, scenic region abundant in natural resources
and human activity. Yet, poverty and restricted livelihoods are widespread and decades
of development efforts have had only a limited impact in solving these problems. Additionally,
population growth and inefficient resource utilisation are rapidly depleting the natural
resources of the local environment, creating potential barriers to future development efforts.
