Project Objectives

The project has the following objectives set to guide the work.
 Participants understand that agriculture is a business
 The agricultural entrepreneur plans and organises him/self to have inputs,
tools, labour and money necessary for the production ready at all times
 For good business, the agricultural entrepreneur to do the necessary work in time and apply the inputs at the right time
 To know if you are doing successful business, you need to know the “Money Out” and “Money In” with precision
 The agricultural entrepreneur tracks the inputs and labour used in the business, and calculates the “money in” and “money out”
 The agricultural entrepreneur knows how to subtract “money out” from “money in” to determine whether he/she has done good or bad business
 To decide whether he will make a profit, the agricultural businessperson calculates “Money Out” and “Money In” before production
 Participants learn different techniques to run and manage their groups to effectively attain their group objectives as a team.
Training sessions began with presentations explaining the value chain. The value chain in this context has been defined as a set of linked activities that work to add value to a product. This implies all actors carrying out actions towards the improvement of the overall quality of the product, thereby enhancing the
marketability of the finished product, garri. We assess the total chain in order to identify problems and develop solutions to improve the quality of garri and drive sales.
In 2018, activities took off with an evaluation of progress. The findings have been used toupdate the respective business plans of the social enterprises. More trainings and coaching sessions are programmed with these entrepreneurs to ensure that their businesses are run successfully.
